Ottawa Salus is governed by a dedicated, committed, passionate volunteer board of directors who generously donate their time and expertise and share our values, mission and vision of stable housing for everyone.
Janet Yale, Chair
Janet Yale is an accomplished leader and senior executive with many years of management experience in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. She served as the President and CEO of the Arthritis Society (Canada) after a long career in the telecommunications and broadcast sectors.
Camille Therriault-Power, Past Chair
After a federal public service career spanning over 30 years in operations and corporate management in federal departments, the Treasury Board Secretariat and the Canada Post Corporation, Camille retired to launch a human resources consulting practice and devote more time to volunteering in the community.
Sarah Bertrand, Treasurer
Sarah Bertrand joined the Ottawa Salus Board of Directors in 2015 as the Treasurer and Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee. She works as an Associate Investment Advisor at RBC Dominion Securities. Sarah is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Investment Manager.
Bernie Etzinger, Director
Bernie volunteers on the Ottawa Salus board because it’s one way to help an organization that has helped so many in our community with persistent mental illness to live with dignity and security in affordable housing. With his international, communications and marketing background, Bernie is proud to contribute to Salus's work to shape that conversation and be a part of a team of fellow board members who believe in the Salus mission.
Fiona Murray, Director
Fiona Murray’s work and volunteer activities have taken her around the globe. After honing her marketing and event-planning skills in Europe and the United States— she landed back in Ottawa following 9/11, where she was offered the position of executive assistant to Maestro Pinchas Zukerman, the National Arts Centre’s (NAC) Music Director. While at the NAC, Fiona was appointed a director of the Zukerman Foundation for Young Artists and a director of the NACO Music Instrument Foundation.
Kevin Yemm, Director
Kevin is a professional Urban Planner, a Ryerson University graduate who has worked in the Ottawa homebuilding industry for 17 years. He is employed at Richcraft Homes Ltd. and enjoys the role of Vice President of Land Development – Investment Portfolio. He is the Builder Developer Council Chair for the Greater Ottawa Home Builders Association.
Mélanie Vadeboncoeur, Director
Mélanie Vadeboncoeur is a lawyer and consultant who works with corporate and public sector clients in various areas of the law, including contracts and privacy. She previously worked in civil litigation for two of Canada’s national law firms. Before earning her law degree, she also obtained an honours degree in translation and now continues to provide translation services to her clients.
Michel Boulay, Director
After several years in management for large national financial institutions, Michel started a company specializing in mortgage consulting and brokering services for commercial and multi-family property owners and developers. He advises clients on the best financing options in the marketplace, allowing them time to focus on other business areas.
Tadiwa Muradzikwa, Director
Tadiwa has over 19 years of human resources experience in agriculture, retail, hospitality, HR consultancy and with the United Nations. He has worked in Canada, the USA, Germany, Liberia, Malaysia and Zimbabwe. His experience includes HR administration, recruitment, talent management, training, compensation, employee relations, and HR policies and strategies.
Timothy Moran, Director
Timothy (Tim) Moran, PhD, MD, FRCPC, is an Indigenous (Métis) psychiatrist at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre in the Community Mental Health program and The Substance Use and Concurrent Disorders program. He provides mental health care to individuals experiencing homelessness or unstable housing and frequently sees the direct positive impact that stable housing can have on these individuals.
Rachel Baxter, Director
Rachel Baxter is a retired lawyer who practiced law with Justice Canada for over 25 years and has extensive experience in legislative development, environmental law, Crown law, commercial law and management of large files implicating multiple federal departments and levels of government.
